Jill was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. As a native of Colorado, she received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Colorado and law degree from the University of Denver in 2014. Jill is also fluent in Spanish; she has a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and studied in Spain. As soon as she completed the bar exam, Jill moved to Greeley to work as a public defender in Weld County. After three years as a public defender representing the indigent, she decided to join the Law Firm of Schwartz, Waible, and Esser, LLC.
As a public defender, Jill was driven by compassion and the desire to be a zealous advocate for the less fortunate in what is often the scariest and most desperate of times for our clients. She quickly gained experience litigating all criminal cases, both misdemeanor and felony, from domestic violence to DUI to property crimes to sex assaults. She has defended her clients in over two dozen jury trials.
The main focus of Jill’s practice at the Law Firm of Schwartz, Waible and Esser, LLC is working with juveniles. As Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in juvenile delinquency cases, she represents the best interests of children who accused of crimes as they navigate the criminal justice system. As GAL in dependency and neglect cases, she represents the best interests of children whom the county is concerned may be abused or neglected. In both arenas, Jill feels extremely proud and privileged to give a voice to these children by providing competent, effective representation and advocacy on behalf of those involved in Colorado’s court system.
